My teaching activities at Linnéuniversitetet include Particle Physics and Astrophysics at the undergraduate level, and more advanced courses in Astrophysics and Cosmic Rays at the Master level.


My research activities since early 2008 focus on Very-High-Energy (VHE) gamma-ray astrophysics with my participation in the H.E.S.S. experiment and in the CTA project. VHE gamma-ray Astrophysics is the study of astronomical objects emitting radiation in an extremely energetic frequency range, using Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes. Previously, from 1999 through 2007 I was working in neutrino physics and astrophysics in the MACRO and Antares experiments.

My profile is that of an experimental astrophysicist with a strong focus in analysis methods. My research projects include the study of extra-galactic cosmic accelerators called Active Galactic Nuclei, peculiar objects composed of a disk of matter accreting onto a supermassive black hole, generating powerful relativistic jets. Since 2008, I have been involved in the discovery of many VHE sources with the analysis method for Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes I developed.


I am fellow of Svenska fysikersamfundet's section for elementary particle and astroparticle physics, and also of the Swedish National Committee for Astronomy.
