Bridge Resource Management/Engine Room Resource Management

Computer-based training , workshops, lectures, case studies, and simulator exercises.

The course includes a series of workshops. Wrong and dangerous behaviors are studied and discussed in groups where current incidents and accidents are analyzed from a BRM / ERM perspective. Workshops are supplemented with computer-based training modules that study human interaction and management of situations that affect the course of the accident.

Simulator exercises provide participants with the opportunity to put their newfound knowledge into practice with exercises created to induce psychological stress in demanding situations.

Major revisions to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (the STCW Convention), and its associated Code were adopted at a Diplomatic Conference in Manila, the Philippines, on 21-25 June 2010. The amendments, to be known as "The Manila amendments to the STCW Convention and Code" entered into force on 1 January 2012 with full compliance by 1 January 2017. The amendments aim at bringing the Convention and Code up to date with recent developments and to enable them to address issues that are anticipated to emerge in the foreseeable future.

Approved by the Maritime Department of the Swedish Transport Agency. The Maritime Resource Management (MRM) course was in February 2012 certified by the Maritime Department of the Swedish Transport Agency as meeting the following sections of the STCW Manila Amendments:
• Reg. A-II/1 for Bridge Resource Management
• Reg. A-III/1 for Engine-room Resource Management
• Reg. A-II/2 and A-III/2 for Use Leadership and Managerial Skills
• Reg. A-II/1, A-III/1 and A-III/6 for Application of Leadership and Teamworking Skills

Maritime officers with experience as deck officers, marine engineers, or pilots. Land-based shipping personnel.

Utbildningscertifikat: 

Godkänt resultat rapporteras direkt till Transportstyrelsen och blir synligt i sjömansregistret. Certifikatet söker deltagaren själv ut från Transportstyrelsen. För detta debiterar Transportstyrelsen en avgift. För att Transportstyrelsen ska kunna utfärda ett certifikat, specialbehörighet eller behörighet till dig måste du ansöka inom 1 år från det datum som står angivet på ditt kursbevis.

Certifikatets giltighet:

Certifikatet är giltigt i 5 år varefter det behöver förnyas.
