MIRAI 2.0 Workshop for greater Impact, March 3 2022
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group (IAEG) welcomes you who are a part of an approved application for MIRAI 2.0 Seed Funding or individual researchers to sign up and participate in a hands-on workshop.
The workshop will be a way to follow up on your progress, facilitate the development of your collaborations and to also learn from other projects in MIRAI (across all TEGs).
Since most projects are interested in eventually applying for larger research grants, we offer an impact planning canvas workshop where you will be able to identify and sharpen the potential impact of your research projects, which is crucial when eventually applying for research grants.
The main objectives with the workshop are:
- Be able to identify and share your strengths
- To get to know other MIRAI members and their strengths
- Increase your ability to describe Impact in application for Research funding
- To enhance collaborations among researchers within MIRAI
The workshop is divided into two parts: Possibility Map and Impact Planning canvas. You will first identify your strengths in a Possibility Map-workshop and then bring that with you/team into an Impact Planning Canvas workshop.
The workshop will be held in zoom and the link to the workshop will be sent to the registered on March 1.
About Possibility Map and Impact planning Canvas
Possibility Map is a workshop method developed by utilizing the concept of “effectuation”- a logic of thinking that uniquely serves entrepreneurs in starting businesses (new research) and provides a way to control a future that is inherently unpredictable. The workshop focuses on “Bird-in-hand (start with your means)” principals and unpack your ample recourse.
Impact Planning Canvas is a tool for identifying the possible impact and planning for how you can achieve it in the best way. Based on research results and on the researcher’s terms. After an introduction of the concept as well as being introduced to the tool you will have the possibility to use your own research as a base for the exercise.
By combining the Possibility Map and Impact Planning Canvas, the MIRAI Seed Funded teams will be able to unpack the multiple individual resources and discuss the team’s research impact. The participants will be able to identify and sharpen the potential impact of their projects which is a crucial component of research applications (if/when they develop a larger application).
Who can participate
The session is organized primarily for the 24 teams approved by the MIRAI 2.0 Seed Funding scheme. As teamwork is the key, we strongly encourage that all members of the seed funded team will join the workshop.
Although the session is organized primarily for the teams approved by the MIRAI 2.0 Seed Funding scheme, we welcome other researchers from MIRAI 2.0 universities who wish to create/join collaborative research in the future.
Workshop style
This workshop will have some lecture components, but most of the time you/team will be actively practicing and engaging with the content. Plan to be an active participant! You will “learn by doing” in this workshop.
The workshop will be held online using a whiteboard tool.
The session will be held in break-out rooms where practical help and guidance from an experienced innovation advisor will be given for individual support.
You do not need to prepare anything beforehand except getting used to an easy online white board MURAL.
