Environmental Economics and Resource Allocation
7.5 creditsThe course provides a solid basis for an economic analyis and understanding of environmental and resource allocation problems. The course covers definitions and basic concepts, such as sustainability, dynamic resource allocation, market failure, coordination problems, asymmetric information, and government intervention. Based on microeconomics, students become familiar with environmental policy instruments such as taxes, subsidies, pollution markets, ambient and emissions standards, but also nudging and other behavioral economics tools.
