The School of Business and Economics under scrutiny
In the first week of October, an international review team visited the School of Business and Economics as a final step in the extensive quality work towards accreditation by AACSB. Now, everyone is waiting for the decision.
Since 2016, the School of Business and Economics has been working towards an international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Getting an accreditation requires systematic development work, with continuous quality assurance of education, study environments, research, collaborations, and skills enhancement.
If the accreditation is approved, it would mean that Linnaeus University will have an internationally recognised stamp of quality confirming the high quality of our programmes in economy and helping us attract highly qualified national and international students and members of staff.
A few weeks ago, as the final step in the process, a so-called peer review team visited the School of Business and Economics. The team conducted a final review of the faculty’s activities, procedures, and documentation, to make sure that the School of Business and Economics meets the high quality requirements that come with an accreditation. The team met with representatives of staff, students, alumni, and businesses.
“No matter how this ends, the School of Business and Economics has gone through comprehensive quality development over the last few years that we’re very proud of, and that we’ll keep up and make the most of”, says Susanne Ackum, the dean of the School of Business and Economics.
AACSB’s decision is expected to come some time in the winter.
